Gold Medalist and cross country ski icon, Kikkan Randall will attend the 2019 American Birkebeiner this week in Hayward, Wisconsin. “We’re thrilled to have Kikkan joining us in the Fischer booth on Friday from 3:30 to 4:30pm at America’s largest ski race. For years, Kikkan has been the leader of growth and evolution of the team, we’re proud to see her on American soil with fans and friends,” described Fischer Nordic Director, Steve Reeder.
Randall, who was diagnosed with breast cancer, shortly after concluding her World Cup season last spring, recently completed treatment. “This is Kikkan 2.0.” Randall described of her post-racing career. “And I think Kikkan 2.0 could be pretty awesome.”
Having shared her treatment and recovery via her website, kikkan.com, Randall has taken on her recovery in the same way she managed her career: head-on and with trademark humor and enthusiasm. During her visit to Hayward, Fischer will be handing out pink Kikkan Randall buffs to anyone making a donation to selected Cancer research funds or the Fast & Female program of which Kikkan is a co-founder.
