Opinel Partners with Press Forward for Media Outreach

CHICAGO, Il. — Opinel, the iconic French maker of folding pocket knives, has partnered with Press Forward PR on media relations and content creation. The partnership comes as Opinel launches its new U.S. subsidiary, based in Chicago.

Born in the Savoie region of France in 1890, the classic Opinel folding knife is an iconic design object, beloved by generations. The company has sold more than 300 million of these knives worldwide during its 126 years of business. Used by Pablo Picasso to create sculpture, showcased in the MOMA in New York City, and featured as one of the world’s “100 Most Beautifully Designed Objects” by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Opinel has earned a revered place in design culture. Today, Opinel produces a wide range of knives in their factory in Chambéry, France, ranging from culinary and tabletop staples to gardening and outdoor adventure tools, all with the same focus on simple beauty and quality.

Opinel produces knives, kitchen and garden tools in Chambéry, France. Founded in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, the company is still owned and operated by the Opinel family, and is best known for the iconic No. 8 folding knife.
