RIPTON, VT – Press Forward PR announced the hire of Kathryn Flagg to the position of Sustainable Accounts Manager today. Flagg, a staff writer at the Vermont weekly Seven Days, will oversee press outreach and communication for Shacksbury Cider, a Shoreham, Vermont-based producer of dry, food-friendly ciders made with heirloom apples and traditional processes. In addition to her work for Shacksbury, Flagg will lend communications support for Press Forward’s sport, sustainability and wellness-related clients.
“Kathryn Flagg has a reputation for detailed work, thoughtful communication and relentless drive,” described Andrew Gardner, founder of Press Forward. “Having read her work on the political events, business news and happenings in agriculture, food and sustainability, I’m grateful to have her experience working on behalf of Press Forward clients.”
Flagg is a former Middlebury Fellow in Environmental Journalism and New England Newspaper and Press Association “Rookie of the Year.” Her stories have also won top awards from the Vermont Press Association and the Parenting Media Awards.
“I’m excited to put my skills as a storyteller to work in a new medium, for companies I believe in,” Flagg said of her new role. “Andrew Gardner has done a remarkable job building a firm grounded in outdoor sport, health and wellness. My interest and expertise in food, sustainability and agriculture is a natural fit here.”
